Yes, there is a dig patio with some cimmon sense rules
Yes. They also have a lot of vegetarian and vegan options.
Till 2lm sat and Sunday
Always have a good meal here. Interesting menu choices and enough vegetarian and vegan choices that you can bring people who choose that to this place. We chose to sit outside, but there is ample I door seating as well. An average of 25 per person is not too bad considering we had beers along with the food.
The Sunday brunch is very good. The summer time is the best. The people watching is awesome. You also get great food and drinks.
Apparently these guys are firing employees who don't show up to work if they test positive for covid. Also, the service(months ago) was generally terrible and it took over an hour just to get an overdone burger.
Service was great even the manager came over...food was pretty good
Best BBQ I've ever had. Plus, lots of great gluten free and vegan options!
Server n hostess, wings are okay and nachos would've been great if they weren't cold when brought to my table.
Awesome place and food. Waiters so good
We chose Double Wide because of their vegan options and patio seating. The atmosphere and service were good although it took a long time to get our food. I had the vegan cheesesteak made with seitan. It would be better described as a BBQ sandwich. There was a heavy sauce that was WAY too salty and unlike any cheesesteak I've eaten. The bun was dry and hard. My husband had the Aloha burger which is a lentil patty. He said was a bit mushy and just ok. The patio chairs are also really uncomfortable to sit in for an extended time.
Love them! Their buffalo chicken dip is great and the staff always treat us well. It's really nice sitting out on their patio enjoying some great beer!
Excellent place for barbecue and other typical USA foods. Great to sit down outside at the patio on a sunny summery afternoon and reminisce about the times when we could eat anything and not get huge. Recommended starters are the nachos and the mussels. There are several IPA beers with "Green" on the names. They are all super tasty.
Ok so we got here at 7:28 put our names in for a table in the newly sectioned 4 table pet area.. the were 3 tables sat with no pets.. the hostess said 15 min.. after three attempts and an hour and a half later to be seated we ended up leaving bc there were open tables including people in the pet area with no pets.. we talked with Bryan the manager who did nothing and the red head hostess and their rules made no sense to seat first come first serve even in the pet area with no pets and open tables elsewhere.. We spoke to 2 managers and nothing resolved.. this is a local place that we normally go to. We wil give our business elsewhere fromt his point on. Learn to operate a business properly.
Excellent choice for anytime dining. Plus outdoor seating is very nice.
We went there for my son's birthday that was the first time I was there it was really good we tried the big pretzel which was very good we got cheese sauce with it was which was amazing my older son is a vegan so that's why he picked this place I tried everything that everybody got I got the vegan steak hoagie I tried the vegan chicken wings sweet potato fries the ribs everything was awesome the manager Amanda waited on us and she was an awesome waitress I talked to her earlier on the phone and we made a surprise for my son when we were done eating she bought out a goo ball for him which he was surprised and happy about We Sing Happy Birthday we had a great time it's a casual place so you don't have to dress up and used to be an old Texaco where they worked on cars actually got my car fixed there a long time ago for a starter it was a wonderful day
Double Wide Grill has a seasonal menu. Menu includes plenty of vegetarian vegan and gluten-free options. They have starters, salads sandwiches specialties burgers ribs and barbecue. They have a specialty cocktail called Bloo's Bathtub tea. It's a house favorite similar to a Long island iced tea with raspberry, blue Curacao, pineapple and sours. We sat in the dog patio. It is pet friendly. It is also a self-serve for the most part. I am sure this has to do with state regulations. The dishes are served on disposal dishes and you have to clear and wipe down your table when finished. The food was surprisingly delicious! I appreciate any business that will jump through the hoops to allow dogs outside their establishment. Thank you!
Absolutely great! Enjoyed the Vegan fare as well. We started with a pumpkin dumpling (I can't remember the term they use in place of dumpling) and vegan wings. Both were amazing. I could have had just this for my meal. For dinner we had a veggie burger and a seitan cheese steak all vegan. I agree with the other reviewer that the cheese steak was more BBQ flavor than I would have liked or expected based on the menu description. It was good, but if you do not like BBQ then you might want to consider trying something else. Place was very packed and happening but the service was sufficient. All in all, a good experience and I would recommend. I unfortunately then food was so good I forgot pictures of the entrees this time but these are the apps!
I love coming here. It’s one of my favorite restaurants to go to in south side. They have a large and diverse menu. They even have vegan options! The best part-YOU CAN BRING YOUR DOG! If you would rather not sit near dogs, they do have their own separate seating. Seating is offered inside and outside.
It smells up the whole neighborhood. If i wanted to smell a fire then I'd light my own
Surprisingly innovative menu for a grill restaurant. The vegan options are great with a variety not usually available in a restaurant that is not exclusively vegan. The service is friendly and efficient. The location is eclectic with it's being an old gas station converted to a restaurant
Food was really good. Fun atmosphere. Because our service was slow, the manager apologized and gave us a free appetizer. You really can't complain about slow service on a Saturday night in So. Side though. Overall great little place.
Amazing food, amazing drinks and amazing service! If you come here PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get the sweet potato fries with the dipping sauce you will NOT regret it :) I would give this place 100 stars if I could.
Terrible seating situation with the dog patio. The host kept saying it was first come first served but didn’t know what the wait would be when asked and didn’t know if any of the guests were cashing out anytime soon. What topped it off was the fact that a couple came in, kissed a couple dogs and created their own table from another section and took chairs from other people’s tables. The server didn’t say a word, meanwhile my friends and I were standing there for about 20 minutes waiting on a table. So why couldn’t that be done for my friends and I but the old white people can leisurely sit down and do whatever they want to do? Never going back 🤢 Giving racism like Southside always does
A great place to grab some great food any time of the day... Sunday Brunch from Noon till 2 and it was absolutely delicious... Definitely a go to any time we're in the city and looking for some Grub...
Great food. Great for nice days. Not to great eating Inside..
The hamburger I had was excellent and the outdoor seating is great given the current circumstances of covid. Staff was great, took it upon themselves to correct a mistake in my order to ensure wich really made the difference in the quality.
Fun friendly staff, excellent food, and a casual atmosphere. This place is easy to find... parking isn't bad either. They do karaoke and can also do fundraisers for non-profits. The outside seating is pet friendly!
Solid go-to in the south side. Luckily it’s a little off the main drag so parking isn’t usually a big issue. The food is usually decent - not great. But I dig the vibe and the prices are good for what you get.
Great service, food was hot and prepared to specs, great music, Brian and Nate made it an awesome lunch, good job folks!!!
First time there, and it was a great experience overall. The service was attentive, and the food was tasty and hot. Portions were a bit small for the price but ok. We brought our dogs and sat outside. Good times!
Good food. Good service. Outdoor seating.
Good food and great service. Menu includes a large selection of vegan items. Highly recommended.
Dinner on my first night in Pittsburgh. Not a bad start. A recommendation from our hotel's shuttle driver.Lots of BBQ meat. Each on this platter was good, but the pork ribs was the best tasting. Server was friendly and attentive. Coincidentally, she's from British Columbia as well.Room was not exactly air conditioned, but was a good deal cooler than outside's hot and humid air.Didn't drive so can't comment on the availability of parking.
Below average food and drinks. Long wait. Post COVID they are charging for small stuff that should be served on side($2 for hot sauce!?)
Had a frozen mojito, so good! Seitan "wings" are out of this world!
Great service, good food, reasonably priced .....will return again and will recommend to others!!!
We love it there! The wait staff is always friendly and the food is excellent!
Really good food, super friendly staff. Highly recommend!
We waiting to be seated for over an hour. Our food was horrible, drinks were terrible. The waitress was very nice and they did reimburse us for most of our meal. Maybe we just went there on a bad night.
Fast friendly service and the cheese burger was delicious! So much more to try!
The service was great. Super fast and timely. Their outdoor seating is greatly accommodating to COVID guidelines. The food was good with a lot of options and large portions. The tap list was also impressive even after it was cut down.
Food and drinks were excellent. Service was poor. Server friendly but did not come back to check on us. (I needed water; I had to go to the hostess to ask for it.) Food took too long to come to our table.
Food was cooked good. Didnt have the Reuben sandwich I wanted but the pulled pork was my second choice and I had seconds🔥
Amazing Food! You Get a little more food than you pay for... IN OTHER WORDS THE MEAL PORTIONS ARE GENEROUS! AND A PEACEFUL ATMOSPHERE! SIDE STREET PARKING ONLY, BUT THAT DOESN'T TAKE AWAY FROM THE OVERALL QUALITY UPON VISITING!
Definitely an interesting restaurant! I was with a group and everyone enjoyed their dishes! They ran out of chicken salad which i was really looking forward to but i ordered the turkey BLT instead. STAY AWAY FROM COLESLAW it doesn’t even have dressing on it, I got it and it wasn’t edible even though i asked the server if it was vinegar or creamy coleslaw and he assured me it was creamy. 32$ for two people (not including tip).
I went there last week and had a nice little lunch and cocktail w my friend. It was nice. I took my daughter to the restroom inside (w our masks on). When we were exiting to go back to our patio seating, to my DISGUST, i saw 2 girls shove fries in their mouths, off of a plate that one of them bussed. The one girl that saw me, quickly dumped the food and put the plate in a buss bin. I mean common ladies! You could get sick, maybe the flu, maybe the corona?!!! Maybe its just plain gross!!!!
Really frustrating! We set-up an order online with a selected pick-up time 30 mins later. Once the order was paid and placed, the confirmation stated it would be ready the next day at 5 PM. I called and the manager changed it to the correct time. We left to pick it up, gave the name upon arrival, and waited 30 minutes until the manager came out, saw me waiting, asked my name, and then came out with the order 20 minutes later, no apology or anything. When we got home to eat, the food had obviously been sitting a while and the burgers were really overcooked. In all, a really disappointing meal from a place I used to really like.
They have a whole separate vegan/vegetarian menu, which is a treat. The seitan wings are especially delicious.
Such a unique eating establishment! Plus, they have a great selection of non-meat options so you can bring a mixed dietary crowd and everyone walks out sated. I especially like their chicken wings!
Double Wide is such a gem. It's one of the few places where you can find a wide variety of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options for standard fare. There's a substitute if you want wings, burgers, chili, and even breakfast food. Eating outside in the warm weather is great, especially so because of the dog patio.
Food was awesome, as usual, and Julie and Brittany provided excellent service. Social distancing and masks worn by staff make Double Wide a go-to for us!
